Twoleaf Help & Support
Twoleaf is a personal library for reading saved articles, text, PDFs, and images on iPhone and iPad. Twoleaf requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later. You do not need a Twoleaf account.
Contact
For help, email thomas@tjlvn.com. It helps to include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, Twoleaf version, and the steps that led to the issue. Please avoid sending notes, private documents, or other library contents unless they are needed to explain the problem. The email is sent through your email provider; it is not sent from inside Twoleaf.
Add something to your library
To save a supported public web article, use your browser's Share button and choose Twoleaf. The article must be reachable by your device and supported by the app. Some sites may block imports or change their pages. You can also add text, select images from Photos, or import a PDF, image, or plain-text file through the system picker.
Read and organize
Open an item from the Library to read it page by page. Use the reader controls to adjust the text and move through the pages. Select a passage to add a highlight or note. Use collections and search to organize and find items.
Images and media
Some saved articles refer to images at the original website. Those images may need an internet connection and may stop working if the provider changes or removes them. A media item keeps its source card and any public transcript available during import. Playback connects to the original provider; Twoleaf does not download media files for playback. The website or provider may receive requests from your device during import or playback and has its own privacy practices.
iCloud sync
During first-run setup, choose to keep the library on this device or enable iCloud sync. You can also enable sync later from Library Options > Settings > iCloud > Sync this device with iCloud. An iCloud account signed in on the device is needed to sync. In Library Options > Settings, review the iCloud status and use Sync Now or Retry iCloud Sync when offered. Pause syncing on this device to stop it from sending and receiving changes; pausing does not erase data already stored in iCloud.
Deleting a synced library item requests deletion of its library record, notes and highlights, and linked saved-copy files from iCloud. If the request cannot complete, Twoleaf keeps it queued on this device, shows the number of pending iCloud deletions in Settings, and retries until CloudKit confirms the cleanup. A small deletion marker may remain to prevent an offline device from restoring the item. The request cannot be delivered while the app cannot run, reconnect, or access the original iCloud account; another device may show its local copy until it receives the change. There is no fixed completion time while this device is offline or the app cannot run.
To allow recovery, the source and notes remain on this device under Library Options > Settings > Manage Recovered Originals. Keep as a New Item creates a new item with new identities and may sync if iCloud is enabled. Delete Permanently removes that local recovery copy, including legacy local copies and notes, and continues the cloud deletion request for the original item. A small deletion marker may remain in iCloud, but it contains none of the deleted source, notes, or highlights. An exported folder is a separate copy and is not removed when you delete an item in Twoleaf.
Portable library copy
Open Library Options > Settings > Portable copy and choose Export Library Folder. Choose a location in Files for the exported folder. To bring a folder back into Twoleaf, choose Restore Library Folder. You can cancel while Twoleaf prepares the folder; after preparation, it adds new copies of the items, notes, and collections. Restoring the same folder again creates another set. Keep the exported folder somewhere safe if you want a separate copy of your library.
Temporary import files and retention
Twoleaf removes abandoned temporary import and library-restore preparation files after seven days when the app next opens, an import starts, or a restore begins. Temporary workspaces are removed when their operation completes or is cancelled. This applies only to temporary work that was not saved to the Library. It does not remove saved items or set a time limit for iCloud deletion requests.
