Glassdisc privacy policy

Updated 19 October 2026

Collection and sharing

Glassdisc has no account, advertising, app analytics, or developer-operated server. It does not send your music, library, listening progress, or motion readings to its developer, and it does not track you across apps or websites.

Your music and saved information

Glassdisc reads the music files and folders you choose in Files. It uses audio, artwork, track metadata, filenames, sizes, and modification dates to show your music and prepare managed offline copies. It stores those copies, your library, listening progress, mixtape draft, burned discs, folder connection, and import progress in its local app storage. This information is used to play your music and restore your place and unfinished work.

Files and other providers

Your chosen folder may be on this device, in iCloud Drive, or with another Files provider. Glassdisc remembers your permission to access that folder on this device. The provider may download or synchronize files under its own settings and privacy policy. Glassdisc does not operate a cloud library or synchronize your cabinet between devices. Importing does not change your original files.

Background appearance

Glassdisc uses device motion, cover-art colors, and the level of playing audio locally to animate its background. It does not use the microphone or camera, save a motion history, or send these readings to its developer. Motion effects stop when the app is inactive, and are disabled by Reduce Motion or Low Power Mode.

Retention and removal

Saved information remains in local app storage between sessions. Disconnecting the Music folder removes the saved folder connection and browsing cache; it does not remove discs or their offline copies. Removing a disc removes it from the cabinet, but managed recordings and some saved metadata may remain, including recordings used by another disc or mixtape. Removing a disc is not a way to erase all stored music or reclaim all of its storage. Your original source files are left untouched.

Backups and deleting the app

iOS or iPadOS may include app data in device backups according to your settings. Deleting Glassdisc removes its local app data, including managed music copies, saved progress, and mixtapes; offloading the app keeps its data. Deleting the app does not delete your original music or copies held by your Files provider or in backups. Manage those separately using the provider and device settings.

Apple services and diagnostics

Apple may make crash, usage, diagnostic, and feedback information available to the developer through App Store or TestFlight services. These services, and device backups, operate under Apple's terms, privacy policies, and applicable settings. Information you send through a support channel is separate from the local music data described above.
